On 27 September 2024, Thanyaluck Thongrompo, partner in the Corporate and Commercial Practice and Head of Permits and Licensing, together with Emi Rowse (Igusa), partner in the Dispute Resolution and Arbitration Practice, represented the firm at the annual AIJA Asia Pacific Regional Meeting 2024 hosted in Phuket, Thailand.
Thanyaluck Thongrompo participated in a panel discussion on “Current Trends and Future of Foreign Investment in Southeast Asia.” The session covered key obstacles faced by foreign investors, such as legal and regulatory complexities, and highlighted current investment incentives provided by Southeast Asian governments. Alongside other experts, Emi Rowse (Igusa) participated in the panel, “Sailing Through Challenges: Common Cross-Border Issues and Best Dispute Resolution Strategy in APAC,” which provided real-world insights into the most common disputes arising from cross-border transactions, with a focus on industry-specific challenges and recent trends in dispute resolution strategies. The event brought together thought leaders and lawyers from some of the largest and respectable law firms to discuss emerging trends and challenges within the region.
