Mayuree Sapsutthiporn, Partner and Head of China Practice, and Kongwat Akaramanee, Partner in the Dispute Resolution Practice, together with Kumpon Kittipongpattana, President of the Construction Lawyers Society shared insights in the panel session “Mastering the Art of Resolving Construction Disputes in Thailand,” moderated by Kudun and Partners’ associate, Ninpim Nawavatcharin. The session explored the complexities surrounding construction disputes, providing attendees with in-depth knowledge on dispute prevention and effective resolution strategies. The session also highlighted how arbitration can serve as a vital mechanism for resolving these disputes, given its ability to offer an impartial and efficient process, particularly in complex construction-related conflicts.
A key focus of the session also addressed the growing prevalence of disputes involving foreign investors, particularly from China. With Chinese investments continuing to rise in Thailand’s infrastructure and real estate sectors, the panel emphasized the importance of understanding the nuances of cross-border disputes and the unique challenges they present. The event attracted over 200 attendees, including arbitrators, judges, prosecutors, and lawyers from both governmental and private organizations, underscoring its significance within the legal and arbitration communities.
Kudun and Partners’ participation in the symposium emphasized their role in dispute resolution, particularly in handling both domestic and international construction and real estate disputes, including managing conflicts involving foreign investors and addressing common contractual issues.
