Peerasanti Somritutai, partner and head of the real estate practice of Kudun and Partners, represented the firm as a panelist in a webinar organized by the Legal & Tourism Hospitality Committees of the American Chamber of Commerce in Thailand (AMCHAM), to share his commercial and legal insights in relation to the topic “Financing the Return of Thailand’s Hospitality Sector”. The penal discussion looked into what role mezzanine lenders may bring in place of traditional lenders. The coverage of the discussion targeted whether the sector is ready for alternative forms of financing to whether the traditional commercial bank financing will return as a preferred financing source for Thailand’s hospitality. The topic is timely as Thailand tourism is set to bounce back from the pandemic.
Focusing on the source of financing for Thailand’s hospitality sector, Peerasanti provided an overview on foreign funds, the greater interests of foreign funds in the hospitality sector and the potential impacts on the Thai market.
Moderated by Charles Blocker of IC Partners, the other panelists in the forum included Paul Volodarsky, Senior Legal Adviser & Deputy Head of Regional Real Estate & Construction from DFDL; Tapanan Rattananate, Director & Head of Product & Institutional Coverage from ALLY Global; and Jacob Samuel, Managing Director from Ares SSG Group.
